SUMMER EXPLORATION SERIES
The Kamehameha Schools camp application for Summer 2026 period closed on January 31, 2026
Eligibility: Children must be entering 6th grade, be a new applicant, be a Nevada resident, must not be currently enrolled full-time at a Kamehameha campus, and must be able to fully participate in the program.
Ancestry verification
Kamehameha Schools’ admissions policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. If you would like your child to be considered under that policy, your child’s Hawaiian ancestry must be verified by Kamehameha’s Ho‘oulu Verification Services.

Ho’omaika’i ‘ana ia ‘oe to this year’s winner: Troy Gilbert. Hulo!
Troy’s Essay was inspiring and thoughtful. Here it is:
“Aloha, my name is Troy Gilbert and I live in North Las Vegas born and raised. I am excited to go to the Explorations Ho’omaka’ika’i for many reasons. For one, I want to learn about the history and culture of the Hawaiians.I would like to meet more Hawaiian people, young and old. I also want to have a new summer camp experience. I’ve never been to a camp.
My mom tells me about the memories she had at my age. My mom worked very hard to get my paperwork in and I am excited to be accepted. My mom keeps telling me that going to camp will help me to understand what being Hawaiian is all about.
Thank you for giving this grant to Ho’omaka’ika’i kids like me.”
